Glamour Party

My sister in law, Stacey, is in cosmetology school and they do glamour parties for little girls. Hailey's friend Lucy had her birthday party there and it was so fun to watch. Six little girls in the chairs getting all fancy and loving every minute of it! First they got their hair done and then their nails polished. Then we went back to Lucy's for a princess tea party! The whole thing was so darling, little girls are just so much fun!

Carving Pumkins

First, story time!
Hailey announced, "Mom, I want to be baptized and then get married in the temple like you because you make me so proud!"
We were at the store the other day and Hailey was in the area just for kids where there are toys for them to play with. (Hailey has one volume, LOUD) I could hear her from across the store asking another little girl if she knew the song about God and told her it was a very sacred song. Hailey then proceeded to sing the whole first verse of "I am a Child of God" in this very crowded store. When she finished she asked the little girl, "don't you know that song, don't you know God? He is very sacred". These stories certainly warm our hearts.
Now for a story that sends a wave panic through us. A lot of you have probably heard about Spencer from Hailey first-hand, but for those of you who haven't, he is her "best boyfriend". At this stage in her life a boyfriend is just a boy that is a friend. Spencer is in her primary and kindergarten classes and they ride the bus together. At our ward humanitarian day I sat by Spencer's mom while we quilted. We had a very interesting conversation. Apparently Hailey was kissing Spencer on the bus a couple of weeks ago. WHAT!!!!!! MY DAUGHTER, she did not get this from me. But, I distinctly remember her father telling me years ago that when he was her age he and his friends had kissing partners. HMMMM...... I guess she does take after her dad afterall!

For FHE we carved our pumpkins. I think the kids look forward to this night all year!
Hailey's fancy hairdo is from a glamour birthday party she went to that afternoon. I'll post pics soon.

Service

We've been trying to implement a more service oriented atmosphere in our home. Last week for FHE we baked brownies and took them to some of our neighbors. It was so simple and easy but WOW, it was great. Then on Saturday we went and helped with our ward's big humanitarian day. The kids really enjoyed serving. In these pictures they are sanding and oiling wooden blocks for less fortunate kids. It really made them feel good to be able to do this.
We want to keep this up. If you have any suggestions please pass them along.

TAG

I was tagged. I'm actually supposed to tell 7 quirky things about myself, but as I gave it some thought all I came up with were major flaws! Well that is no fun, so I decided to cheat. I'd rather talk about my man and take a trip down memory lane. So, I am playing MAN TAG instead!
HERE GOES.....

What is your husband's name? Ben
How long have you been married? 9 1/2 years
How long did you date? Dated 8 months, and engaged for 2.
How old is he? 32
Who eats more sweets? That's probably a tie
Who said "I love you" first? funny story- he said something followed by... I love you too. So I said I love you too. He laughed....he was referring to the band we were listening to. He actually said I love U2. VERY EMBARASSING! Then he said, but I do love you. So I guess I said it first. What do you think?
Who is taller? Ben, by 2 inches
Who can sing the best? He can
Who is smarter? That would depend on the subject :)
Who pays the bills? I'm the spender!
Who sleeps on the right side of the bed? Ben does
Who mows the lawn? Our neighbor boy!
Who cooks dinner? Usually me, but Ben is the dessert guy!
Who drives? Ben HAS to drive, (he is 99.9% red, what can I say?!)
Who kissed who first? Ben kissed me first, but I told him to.
Who asked who out first? I don't really know, we were just always together.
Who wears the pants? Hands down, Ben (again, it's a red thing) Love you honey!

More Bear World

Yippee! Free ride day means go on them over and over again and we did.
What a Guy!
Grace was too small to go on the rides without an adult, so Ben stepped up.
(I'm sure he loves this picture.)

These are definately my kids! They aren't afraid of anything and they don't get motion sick!

Yellowstone Bear World

Hooray! Ben's parents were able to come up this weekend and we decided to go to bear world since we haven't been yet this year and it was the last weekend they would be open until spring.
We love going here. It is so awesome to see the bears close up. We also saw a wolf, elk, buffallo, and a moose. They also have a petting zoo which Grace loved!
Here are 2 of the cubs that were born last spring.
Grace feeding a deer.
Our little family feeding the ducks.
Ben is trying to save the duck food from the deer.

General Conference Weekend
It's tradition to go to Ben's parent's house and watch conference. We lucked out because the kids had that Thursday and Friday off from school so we had extra days to play! Going to Nanie and Poppy's is always a fun adventure. This time there were 2 giant boxes that the kids made a fort with. They spent hours decorating it with markers and halloween decorations. Great idea Nanie!
We went and picked out pumkins at a pumpkin patch. Dallin and Hailey were in the garden everyday with Poppy. Dallin asked every morning "when can we go out to the garden"? I guess since our own garden was a flop he couldn't wait to work in one that really produced!

Here's my big guy picking apples in their yard.

They went out in the garden everyday to help Poppy pick vegetables.

My sweet little pumpkins!
