The Violin

You have no idea how excited Hailey is to be learning to play the violin. When we came home from her hour long lesson last night she was upset that it was time for bed and I wouldn't let her practice. She made me promise that I would let her practice today. She took it so seriously too, she sat for 30 min doing her bow exercises and learning the notes.
Her teacher is so sweet, I think she is just as excited to be teaching her as Hailey is to be taught.

A Day at the Zoo

Our fun weekend ended on Monday at the Houston Zoo. The weather was perfect (in my opinion). The trees were adorned with jack-o-lanterns, all ready for Halloween. The exhibits were amazing, we could get so close to the animals, as you can see in the pics. The picture above was taken inside the zoo, it is so lush and beautiful, it's hard to believe it is in the middle of downtown Houston.

My two favorite guys!

Houston Aquarium

We finally had a Saturday with no soccer. So we headed north to Houston to visit the Downtown Aquarium. It was a perfect day, a cold front moved in and we enjoyed a mild 75 degrees. Which is a nice change from the 105 heat index during the week.

We went through an aquarium on a train in the shark voyage exhibit.

The white tigers were the most amazing part of the day.

The carousel was great fun even though Grace looks uneasy! We all liked the ferris wheel but sorry no pics.

My second favorite exhibit. This is the biggest snake I have ever seen in person. A 20' long python.

Goofball!

Grace at 2 1/2

Are those her daddy's eyes or what!
I just love the things they say and the way they say it!
Grace is a champ! Her accomplishments at 2 1/2:
Potty trained (Hooray)
Sings ABC's
Counts to 12
I really need to capture the last 2 on video, that voice! It melts my heart!
I wish I could take all the credit for teaching her these things but the truth is, it really helps to have 2 older siblings that she picks up on the stuff they do.
Some of my favorite phrases that come out of those lips:
"I love you much" and "I love you mommy"
If someone does something she doesn't like she proceeds to count 1,2,3 as a warning!
(wonder where she got that from )
Where Dallin and Hailey? (several times a day)
At the end of her prayer "Christ, Aben" then she claps and cheers.
Going beach day? -Are we going to the beach today?
Mom, look! (all day long)
Some great words:
Monser Mink- Monsters Inc.
EEEE up- clean up
Jacket- our neighbor Jack
Our friends' last name is Markham so she calls markers- Markham
lure-lizard
diddies- blankies
samich-sandwich
fu-fy- butterfly
fip fops- flip flops
simsoup- swimsuit
yep
pease-please
We have not had the terrible two's with any of our kids, it's always at three the switch gets flipped. So we are really enjoying our sweet little angel until next March when things may get ugly :)
I love this sweet little thing so much! She is growing WAY too fast though.
