First Day of School

I can't believe school is already starting. Hailey is now a big kindergartener. The first thing she did when I woke her up this morning was give me a hug with a giant grin on her face. She had no anxieties about going to school and she wasn't sad when I left her classroom. Dallin was so excited when he got to school and saw some of his friends from our ward.

This is Dallin after school getting off the bus. As we walked home he told me all about his day. He really likes his teacher because she is nice and she likes art and field trips! He has a friend that just moved into our neighborhood who is in his primary and 2nd grade classes. He told me they ate lunch together, played during recess with each other and they sat together on the bus ride home. He had two complaints- recess is too short, and he got tired of waiting for the other kids to be quiet and pay attention when the teacher asked them to. Riiiight!

Hailey had very interesting things to tell me. She said she found a girl who was all alone and she played with her so she wouldn't be sad. Then they played princesses. All the other children wanted to play so they were either princes or princesses and at that point Hailey became the queen. She found a nice prince to make him her king. There is a doll in the classroom that was their baby princess. For those of you who don't know Hailey she is a take charge kind of girl. She is also a fantastic storyteller, so who knows what really happened!

Thankfully they both came home with smiles on their faces and happy things to say and they can't wait to go back tomorrow!
